Fiber detectors for recoil-ion detection at R3B, GSI/FAIR

Bachelor Thesis

In the context of the hypernuclei program at R3B; GSI/FAIR, new fiber detectors are being built. These fibers will be used to track relativistic light ions following the in-flight decay of hypernuclei. During the bachelor thesis, the detector response will be simulated with realistic physics cases. An analysis method will be developed. In parallel, the fibers will be assembled and their operation will be optimised and validated with cosmic muons.
