Setup of collinear beamline in Chicago starts

The TRIGA beamline arrived at Argonne National Laboratory after almost a month of travel on see, rail and streets. It will be installed, adapted and tested off-line to make it fit, e.g. to the US power net.

Christian Gorges defends his PhD thesis successfully

Christian Gorges passed the oral examination and is the first member of the LaserSphere group to receive a doctorate degree at TU Darmstadt. Congratulations from the whole team Christian!

Demonstration of the wave-particle dualism during the open day at GSI

On 07.05.2017 almost 11.000 interested guests used the possibility of the open day at GSI, the youngest of them stepping for the first time into the world of physics. In addition to the accelerator facilities , laboratories and experiments could also be visited. In the future CRYRING laser lab, the setup for single photon detection was presented.

TRIGA-Beamline on its way to Chicago

Bremerhaven, 5. April 2017: The TRIGA-LASER Beamline, which was disassembled and boxed during the last months will be shipped today from Bremerhaven. Seven boxes with a net weight of over two tons are loaded onto the container vessel “NYK RIGEL” and will be navigated over Halifax to its destination Chicago.

A new charge exchange cell for the Bor-8 and CARIBU experiments

A new charge exchange cell has been designed for the Bor-8 and CARIBU experiments and will be sent to Argonne National Lab together with the TRIGA-LASER beamline. The charge exchange cell has been manufactured in-house by our workshop and has been funded by the SFB 1245.
