Mădălina Enciu (A03, A08) has been awarded the RIBF Users Group Thesis Award

2024/09/12

The award distinguishes outstanding thesis work performed in the context of radioactive beam experiments.

Picture of the prototype of the STRASSE array developed at TU Darmstadt in collaboration with the Tokyo Institute of Technology, LPC Caen, and the detector laboratory of GSI with the support from the CBM collaboration. The first full assembly, stable operation of the full detector, and readout implementation were performed by Madalina Enciu during her doctoral work.

The committee appreciated her analysis of the 52Ca(p,pn) reaction at SAMURAI that proofed that 52Ca is a closed neutron shell nculeus and her contributions to the development of the silicon tracker STRASSE and its associated liquid hydrogen target. Congratulations!
