COLLAPS measurements of short-lived Calcium isotopes published

Measurements of the magnetic moments and electric quadrupole moments of the short-lived Calcium isotopes 47,49,51Ca performed at COLLAPS appeared as “Rapid Communication” in Physical Review C. These isotopes are of particular interest as evidence of closed-shell structures has recently been found at N=32 and N=34, which are not included in the conventional shell model. Our results are in excellent agreement with predictions of interactions derived from chiral effective field theory including three-nucleon forces, which have also been performed at TU Darmstadt.
