After shutdown of the German nuclear power plants – perspectives on
decommissioning
An overview on the status of the nuclear decommissioning in Germany
will be given, and by two case examples light will be shed on yet
upcoming challenges. On one hand the Waste Acceptance Criteria will be
addressed – that is how waste has to be treated, so it can be
transferred into final storage in Germany. On the other hand the
practical cutting and packaging of a reactor pressure vessel will be
discussed, and which steps need to be taken to reach that goal.
