After discussing the search for CP violation beyond the Standard Model through atomic and molecular dipole moments, I review the argument that for CP violation coming from the nucleus, the quantity that usually induces these dipole moments is the Schiff moment. I then review existing calculations of Schiff moments in several important nuclei and discuss work in progress in ab initio schemes to improve the accuracy of the calculations.
