Automatisierte Aktivierungsverfahren für GaAs-Photokathoden

Bachelor Thesis

In this work, the reproducibility of automated co-deposition activations of GaAs cathodes will be investigated. For this purpose, the EPICS-based controller was adapted to be controlled via a Python script. For the activations, GaAs cathodes were exposed to cesium and oxygen in a ratio tuned to the structure. The script uses pre-determined parameters and time intervals for control. After nine automated activations with identical settings for the activation parameters, their basic feasibility was successfully demonstrated. However, reproducibility, due to the unreliable oxygen supply dictated by the setup and the sheer automation, is limited.
