Research Group Joachim Enders
Technical Nuclear Physics

Welcome to the Research Group of Prof. Joachim Enders

The working group is involved in developments on particle accelerators, technical nuclear physics and nuclear photonics. For this purpose we experiment at our test facility “Photo-CATCH” for spin-polarized electrons, at the in-house superconducting electron linear accelerator S-DALINAC and at the GSI Helmholtzzentrum für Schwerionenforschung. Outside Germany, we are establishing collaborations e.g. with Duke University in the USA or the new Extreme Light Infrastructure – Nuclear Physics in Romania.

Helmholtz Graduate School for Hadron and Ion Research

Particular thanks are due to Helmholtz Graduate School for Hadron and Ion Research, short HGS-HIRe. This program, funded by the Initiative and Networking Fund of the Helmholtz Association, is a cooperation between

  • the GSI Helmholtzzentrum für Schwerionenforschung, Darmstadt,
  • the Technical University Darmstadt,
  • the Goethe University Frankfurt,
  • the Justus Liebig University Giessen,
  • the Ruprecht-Karls-University Heidelberg,
  • the Johannes Gutenberg-University Mainz,
  • and the Frankfurt Institute for Advanced Studies (FIAS).

This graduate school offers various lecture and power weeks on current research topics and soft skill events to develop interpersonal skills. A travel program offers participants a grant to finance the visit of national and international conferences. Homepage: https://hgs-hire.de/
