Our paper on charge radii of scandium isotopes has been published in Phys. Rev. Letters today. By measuring the isotopes ^47-49Sc we could establish the charge radii across the f_7/2 shell.
Interestingly, the scandium isotopes Sc-41 and Sc-49 at N=20 and N=28, respectively, have nearly the same size, which reproduces the behavior of the calcium isotopes Ca-40,48. Moreover the trend along the N=28 isotones resembles very much the pattern along the calcium (Z=20) isotopes.
