First experimental test of the Ratio Method published
2025/06/02
We have just published in Phys. Rev. Lett. the result of the first experimental test of the Ratio Method to study halo nuclei.

The experiment was performed at Texas A&M with a 11Be beam on a carbon target at 22 MeV/nucleon. This new measurement has confirmed for the first time that by taking the ratio of the scattering and breakup angular cross sections, we obtain an observable independent of the reaction process. Accordingly, this observable provides more accurate structure properties about the nucleus.
