Experiment 2.2a – Interaction of Gamma Radiation with Matter
In this experiment the ineteraction of gamma radiation at different energies with matter is investigated. A NaI crystal is used for spectroscopy of the radiation. In this crystal, ionising radiation causes photo luminescence which is amplified by a photomultiplier tube. Measurements with two radioactive sources, Na-22 and Cs-137, under different boundary conditions will be performed and analysed.
