Experiment 2.4 – Mössbauer Effect with Fe-57
In this experiment, some fundamentals of the recoil-free resonance absorption of gamma radiation with Fe-57 as example are presented. A Mössbauer source is moved by an electromagnetic drive and thre transmission low-energy gamma radiation through different absorbers is analysed with a proportional counter-tube.
