New article on our compact source for bunches of singly charged atomic ions is now online

2016/04/22

The ion source is based on atomic evaporation from an electrically heated oven and ionization by electron impact from a heated filament inside a grid-based ionization volume. The article shows the setup and the characterization of the compact ion source for low-energy bunches of singly charged atomic ions in a vacuum beam line as well as experimental results on the creation of low-energy ion bunches of up to 106 Mg+ ions.
