Demonstration of the wave-particle dualism during the open day at GSI

On 07.05.2017 almost 11.000 interested guests used the possibility of the open day at GSI, the youngest of them stepping for the first time into the world of physics. In addition to the accelerator facilities , laboratories and experiments could also be visited. In the future CRYRING laser lab, the setup for single photon detection was presented. The wave-particle dualism was demonstrated in this experiment and it gave rise to many discussions with the visitors, reaching out to the large interferometers of LIGO where gravitational waves have been observed recently for the very first time.
