New fluorescence detection system goes on-line

The new fluorescence detection system developed for LASPEC and the beamline at ANL has succesfully passed its first on-line application. A copy of the device developed for the beamline at ANL went to the BECOLA facility at NSCL/MSU and was applied for laser spectroscopy on neutron-deficient Ca isotopes. The results confirm the high expectations concerning the sensitity of the device.
