Installation of a liquid metal ion source at the ALIVE project

A Liquid Metal Ion Source (LMIS) for the production of indium ions was successfully installed and commissioned at the ALIVE experiment. This ion source was designed and constructed at the TU Dresden and is usually used as an ion thruster for satellites. Here, the high voltage measurements should benefit from the low emittance and the advantages of In⁺ ions.
