Proposal for a Raman Filter featured as “Editors' Suggestion” in Phys. Rev. A

We have studied the possibility of using a Raman scheme to transfer ions within a beam from the ground to a higher-lying metastable state with high-velocity selectivity. This could find important applications in high-precision laser spectroscopy and optical high-voltage measurements.
The paper has been published in Physical Review A today and has been featured as an “Editors' Suggestion”.
