First laser spectroscopic studies of short-lived Al isotopes published

First laser spectroscopic results of short-lived Al isotopes appeared today in Physical Review C. The measurements were carried out at the COLLAPS beamline at ISOLDE/CERN. Besides the changes in charge radii, the magnetic and quadrupole moments were determined and compared with ab-initio calculations, which are able to reproduce the trend along the isotopic chain whereas the values are underestimated.
