COALA Beamline extended

2021/06/21

The COALA Beamline was extended with a switchyard that will allow us to connect several ion sources simultaneously to the apparatus, providing a higher flexibility for laser spectroscopy. An electron beam ion source (EBIS) will be installed at one of the additional arms end of September. This will allow us to perform collinear laser spectroscopy on He-like ions of light elements.
The picture shows Phillip Imgram as he installs the central beam diagnostic station at the switchyard.
