Project A02: Effective field theories and ab initio calculations of light nuclei
The goal of project A02 is to develop and apply theoretical frameworks for precision ab initio calculations of light nuclei based on effective field theory. Complementing the experimental program on precision measurements in project A01, we will provide an accurate ab initio description of nuclear structure and spectroscopy of light nuclei with fully quantified theory uncertainties for new generations of chiral interactions. In addition to ground-state and spectroscopic observables, we will explore continuum degrees-of-freedom in complementary approaches, with special emphasis on the continuum structure of few-neutron systems.
