Project B03: Constraining nuclear matrix elements for fundamental symmetries

In project B03 we will study nuclear structure aspects involved in nuclear matrix elements for neutrinoless double-beta decay and in dark matter direct detection. This provides support for worldwide research activities in the fields of astroparticle and particle physics. We will perform elastic and inelastic electron scattering experiments for the structure factors of xenon isotopes as well as nuclear resonance fluorescence and electron scattering experiments to study shape-mixing effects in nuclei involved in double-beta decay.

Project B03 ended after the first funding period.
